Meet the Coaches for the 2020 Summer Season
HEAD COACH – Drew Hollett
My name is Drew Hollett and I swam summer league for 8 years. I started swimming year round when I was 10 and have not stopped since. I attend, and swim, at Tufts University in Massachusetts. I have competed at Junior Nationals and swam for Athens Drive. I look forward to returning to Silverton for my third year coaching, this year as Head Coach. I know we’ll have a great summer. See you on the pool deck!
Assistant Coach – Glen Gimpl
I began my swimming career as a Silverton shark. Thanks to the great coaches and friends I made, I loved swimming so much that I decided to give up tennis in order to swim year round starting my sixth grade year. It was tough doing so many yards in those early days, but I’m glad I did it.
I’m now a rising senior at Raleigh Charter High School, enjoying the benefits of those hard work outs and always challenging myself to achieve more. My high school swim team has finished first or second in the state for three years in a row, and it’s been incredible to be a contributing part of that. I swim year round for Marlins of Raleigh, a member of the senior elite team. I also have several sectional cuts and hope to swim in college.
I’m so excited to be able to share my passion for swimming in a technical coaching role with the kids on the team. Go Sharks!
Assistant Coach – Kate Langsdorf
Hi! I’m Kate Langsdorf and this is my tenth season as a Silverton Shark. In the past, I’ve been a Big Shark and a Junior Coach. I look forward to being an Assistant Coach this season. I love being a part of the Silverton family and I know that we’re gonna have a great season! Swim fast Sharks!
Assistant Coach – Nikki Westlake
Hey, Sharks! My name is Coach Nikki and I can’t wait for this summer! It can’t get here fast enough. This will be my 8th year at Silverton and the swim team is my favorite part of the summer. I look forward to creating new memories and having some laughs this season as one of your Assistant Coaches! My main focus will be having fun throughout the entire season at meets as well as at practice. See you soon!
